AFTER GEORGE RECIPON (FRENCH, 1860-1920) BEAUTY & THE BEAST. Large bronze shows a nude woman standing beside a seated lion. Woman holds a hand mirror in her left and her right arm is extended out. Her hair flows back in the wind and the lion tail extends beyond base. Superbly modeled and signed on base “Recipon” and “Copyright 1904 By. LaPointe”. Purportedly from a large Kennebunkport hotel. SIZE: 32″ h x 18″ w x 13″ d. CONDITION: Very good, nice bronze patina, there is a drilled hole in the base where it was secured to prevent theft. 5-66912 (3,500-5,000)
