WINCHESTER MODEL 1873 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 32 WCF. Standard grade rifle with 24” oct bbl, full magazine, standard open sights, uncheckered wood, straight stock with crescent steel buttplate. Receiver and sideplates are after market engraved with a standing deer on the left side surrounded by foliate arabesque patterns with punch dot background. Engraving is not factory. Accompanied by a Winchester Museum letter indicating shipment on November 25th 1889 with eleven other rifles. SN 319202. CONDITION: As noted, about good. Retains most of a poor refinish to the metal with the wood retaining some original finish. Strong dark bore. 4-48358 JR471 (500-800)
