ABRAHAM RATTNER (American, 1895-1975) ABSTRACT. Unsigned oil on canvas abstract scene in colors of red, black and yellow of a man in uniform with helmet. Housed in a frame which has two labels from the Downtown Gallery. Both indicate the title “Figure” and the artist as Abraham Rattner, also dated 1953. Each shows a size of 32-1/2” x 39”. It appears that the artist reused this frame and placed a liner to accommodate the present canvas. SIZE: 30” x 36”. CONDITION: Some chipping and craquelure, in need of some restoration. 9-26499 (1,500-2,000)
