OUTSTANDING PAINTED JEWELRY BOX. Early to mid 19th Century having a large hand painted scene on paper of a Georgian house with gates and fence surrounded by tall trees and having three cows in front. The image is well done and finely detailed. The painting was laid down on the lid and in the period a mustard stripe with black edging was applied to finish off the cover. The base having green, red and black panel decoration. Interior with a period oil spot type wallpaper. Interior having two small compartmented sections. SIZE: 4″ h x 12″ w x 9″ d. CONDITION: Small nicks to paint, structurally very good. In original untouched condition. 8-87560 (2,200-4,500)
