ATTRIBUTED TO ALEXANDER POPE: PORTRAIT OF MARY CHASE ON HORSEBACK. This large oil on canvas came from the Cuno Estate of Kennebunk, Maine. The family, around the turn of the century, had been personal friends of Alexander Pope who was known to have executed a number of paintings for the family. This purportedly depicts Mary Chase.
