UNSIGNED (19th Century) PAIR OF ANCESTRAL PORTRAITS. Fine oil on canvas portraits of a man and a woman. Mid 19th Century. Both identically framed in what appears to be their original gold decorated frames with griffin and lyre motif corners. 1) Half portrait of a woman in a gray dress. She wears a lace bonnet decorated with flowers and has a gold necklace and a brooch at center of dress. 2) Half portrait of a gentleman wearing a dark coat, white shirt and having curly brown hair and wearing a diamond lapel pin. SIZE: 25” x 20”. CONDITION: Craquelure with some scrapes and discolored masking varnish but generally in good condition. 9-72365 (2,500-4,000)
