NEW ENGLAND SMOKE DECORATED AND PAINTED DOME-TOP BOX ATTRIBUTED TO RUFUS PORTER (1792-1884). The pine box with dome lid, forged lock, spring and wire hinges decorated overall with whimsical trees and smoke decoration. The following inscription, penciled inside the lid reads: “1864 Orville Clark Bumford. Clark E. Woodard 1924.” SIZE: 9”h x 20”l x 11-1/2”d. CONDITION: Very good overall, with acceptable wear and scuffing. 9-90714 MD (6,000-8,000)
