SMITH & WESSON NEW MODEL #3 LARGE FRAME REVOLVER. Cal. unknown (see description). Blued finish, 6-1/2” keyhole ribbed bbl, marked on the left side “44 S&W CTG”. Cylinder is a replacement and appears to be for a 45 or larger cartridge. Fitted with 2-pc diamond checkered walnut grips. There are two tiny proofs stamped on the right side of the grip frame underneath the grip that appear to be a “Y” and a “B”. SN 34656. CONDITION: As noted good to very good. Cylinder is numbered 35343, bbl and latch match the frame and the grips are unnumbered. Grips show heavy wear and there is a repaired crack in the left side. Bore is bright and shiny with a spot or two of minor pitting, good mechanics. 4-48000 JR84 (Anderson Collection) (750-1,500)
