RARE SMITH & WESSON NEW MODEL #3 REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. Nickel finish with rare 3-1/4” keyhole ribbed bbl with 2-line address and patent dates on the top strap. Cylinder and latch are numbered to the frame while the bbl is numbered 15246. That numbered revolver was never shipped from the factory. Fitted with deep gold medallion, ivory grips of more recent manufacture. SN 6802. CONDITION: Near excellent. Frame and cylinder retain most of a fine restored finish while the bbl retains about all of its original finish. Hammer retains about 75% fading case colors and the trigger guard has traces of original case colors turning gray. Grips are a mellow yellow color with light sanding marks.
