HENRY WARD RANGER (American, 1858-1916) SUMMER FARMING. Wonderful large oil on canvas scene shows a figure atop a wagon pulled by two oxen approaching a stone and wood fence with another figure at gate. Green pastures and large trees dot the landscape under white cloud and blue sky. An outstanding work by this American impressionistic painter. Signed lower left “H W Ranger”. Housed in an outstanding Stanford White influenced reproduction wide frame with gilt wood name plaque. SIZE: 24″ x 32-1/4″.
