OIL ON CANVAS “MOOSE AND CALF” BY WILLIAM SIMMONS (1884-1949). Simmons was a member of the Society of American Artists among other societies. He exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the U.S. National Museum. The scene shows an impressionistic landscape in spring or early summer colors with shallow river, having moose and calf waiting. Housed in a gilt guido frame.
