NEW ENGLAND CHIPPENDALE CHERRY AND BIRCH TALL CHEST OF DRAWERS. Late 18th century. The molded cornice fitted to the rectangular dovetailed case of 6 graduated thumbmolded drawers on a molded base with shaped bracket feet with scalloped returns. SIZE: 56-1/2″ h. x 36″ case w. x 20″ d. PROVENANCE: From an East Sangerville, Maine private collection. Acquired from Robert Hall, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine in the 1950/60’s by the present owner’s parents. CONDITION: Structurally original with heavy chamfered backboards, retaining original brasses and bracket feet; with old professional refinished surfaces. 9-94937 (1,800-2,500)
