LARGE JAPANESE CLOISONNE VASE. Wonderful Cloisonné vase has slightly square body with a decorated panel on each side. Front depicts a gray hawk or falcon flying above pink flowers against a light sky blue background. The reverse has five gray and white songbirds flying near a tree of blooming cherry blossoms against a copper colored gold fleck background. Side panels are decorated with snarling dragons on a brown background. The shoulder and neck are all decorated with floral designs. SIZE: 18-1/4″ t. CONDITION: Small chip in black enamel near bottom of vase and some minor roughness at edge of foot where enamel meets brass edge, otherwise very good. 5-65896 (3,000-4,000)
