UNSIGNED (American, 19th Century) SAILOR’S VALENTINE. Interesting oil on board painting shows a Blue Jay standing amongst colorful red roses and green leaves. On back of board is written “Rose My love I miss you and our little Velma, Alas summer will come and the Sarah Jane will dock. Until then, this valentine states my love for you. Forever, Maynard 77”. Housed in its original intricate inlaid wood frame which is decorated with stars and band inlay. SIZE: 20-1/4” x 13-1/4”. CONDITION: Generally very good. Some minor chips. 9-97072 (300-500)
