MARLIN MODEL 1895 LEVER ACTION TAKE-DOWN RIFLE. Cal .45-70. Standard grade rifle with 26” round bbl, full magazine, ivory bead hunting front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight. It has case colored receiver, uncheckered wood with straight stock, 14” over an old “AIROCEL” red sponge pad. SN 242029 CONDITION: Good, retains about 70% thin original blue with moderate to heavy rust. The receiver retains 25-30% case colors, mostly turned silver. The wood is sound with the forearm retaining 65-70 original varnish with bumps and scratches. The buttstock has a large repaired splice at the toe and retains most of a dark finish. The pad is partially collapsed. Good mechanics, strong bright bore with a few spots of pitting. 4-50189 JR547 (500-1,000)
