SET OF 4 LOUIS XVI FAUTEUILS EN CABRIOLET. 2nd half 18th century. Each chair constructed of beech having an oval molded padded back joined to outcurved arms ending in fluted scrolled grips, raised on S-curved stop-fluted supports centering a round overupholstered seat with molded rail; raised on tapering, cylindrical, fluted, ring-turned legs headed by carved flowerheads. SIZE: Each: 35-1/4″ h. of back, 17″ h. of seat. CONDITION: Each with professional restoration and repolishing. Structurally intact, each chair originally designed with cane back and seat; current upholstery is mounted over the original caned frames. 9-95615 (2,000-4,000)
