GEORGE III MAHOGANY ARMCHAIR. Late 18th century. The serpentine crest rail with outscrolled ears above the pierced splat, joined to the over-upholstered trapezoidal seat covered in needlework of the period, flanked by bold serpentine arms with exaggerated volute grips on incurved arms, raised on molded and chamfered legs joined by recessed box stretcher. SIZE: 36″ h. of back. CONDITION: Old dark surface repairs to ear, stretcher restored. Overall very good. 9-93142 (1,500-2,000)
