UNSIGNED (British, 19th Century) SHIP PORTRAIT OF THE SLIEVE ROE. Oil on canvas scene shows a three-mast black hull ship sailing left to right flying British flag. Several men aboard sailing in a white capped gray/blue ocean with land off stern. The Slieve Roe was built by Harland & Wolf, Belfast, 1878. Accompanying lot is a history of the ship taken from the Romance of the Clipper Ships. Housed in a fine burl wood molded replacement frame. SIZE: 26” x 35”. CONDITION: Relined, very good.
