FINE EARLY 19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY DOUBLE TAMBOUR DESK. Outstanding example with a double door tambour sliding top with both end panels carved in simulated tambour wood design. Top opens to reveal numerous storage compartments with three drawers. Base with a folding writing surface supported on five tapered legs with delicate string inlays having two similarly decorated drawers across the top. Lower portion is a serpentine front tambour compartment which opens to reveal two storage spaces. Either end of the tambour compartment cutout in similar tambour design. The early 19th Century two handsome two part desk of New England origin. SIZE: 45” h x 39” w x 20” d. CONDITION: Generally very good with some very minor imperfections. 9-71513 (8,500-12,500)
