IMPROVED LEWIS TEMPLE SINGLE FLUE HARPOON. Mid-19th century. This example, an interesting combination of elements, combining a slotted, or “double shank”, iron for use in a Greener Gun, the single flue head fitted for a small wooden shear pin (a later improvement on the original). SIZE: 44″ overall l. Shaft: 1-1/4″ dia. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private collection. CONDITION: Very good overall. Shaft with minor pitting. 9-95070-1 (800-1,200)
