PAIR OF FLINTLOCK SNAP BAYONET BLUNDERBUSS PISTOLS MARKED D. EGG. Cal. about 50. 8-3/16” part octagonal brass barrels. Both locks are marked in script “D. Egg” and the barrels are marked “D. Egg. London.” Although both barrels have spurious Birmingham style proof marks including “BCP” and crossed keys. The snap bayonets are 7” long. The walnut stocks are finely checkered at the wrist and have brass mountings. CONDITION: The brass has been cleaned and polished but has a pleasing patina. The wood has normal handling marks but is generally fine. Both locks are excellent reconversions using cast parts. The Egg markings have been re-cut. 4-48708 (6,000-7,000)
