FANTASTIC CARVED AND PAINTED DOUBLE PADDLE PLAQUE. Two carved and painted paddles are crisscrossed through a heart shaped hub. One paddle has a scene of hunter shooting a large buck in landscape. The other with an Indian next to a stream with three deer. The heart shaped hub has a painting of a raccoon on a branch and has background in red and green. Back side of the heart is painted with a game bird. Back side of the paddles are also decorated, one with a brook trout and the other with a man and guide in a canoe catching a brook trout. Ends of the paddles are carved and painted with flowers. First quarter of the 20th Century. PROVENANCE: From the John Delph Collection. SIZE: 31” l x 9” at highest.
