RARE CASED PAIR OF PURDEY PERCUSSION DOUBLE BARREL PISTOLS. SN 4167, 4168. Cal. 50. 6” barrels marked “J.PURDEY.314 ½ OXFORD STREET, LONDON”. The same marking without the number is on the locks. Double swivel ramrod. Accompanying papers indicate that this pair of pistols was made for Felix Pryor in 1847. Cased in a modern box with a Sykes flask and an incorrect bullet mold. CONDITION: Traces of blue on the trigger guard and Damascus pattern on the barrels. Otherwise, smooth patina. The case is fine. 4-48713 (7,500-9,500)
