GEORGE HORNE RUSSELL (Canadian, 1861-1933) THE DUCK POND. Oil on canvas scene shows five white ducks on the edge of a pond with lily pads. Bank has light and dark green leafy branches with spots of dark and medium blue sky showing through. Hint of red wildflowers in background. Signed lower left “G. Horne Russell”. . Outstanding carved wood period gold painted frame, which probably was made by the artist who is known for his framing. PROVENANCE: This painting descends directly in the family of the artist.
