RARE SMITH & WESSON JAPANESE NAVAL CONTRACT NEW MODEL #3 REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. Blued finish, 6-1/2” keyhole ribbed bbl, pinned half-moon front sight, wood grip panels with a tiny anchor on the frame at the top of the backstrap. Grips are replacements and have been recently checkered and refinished. Shipped to Takata, Japan in 1892. SN 24826. CONDITION: Good to very good. Retains about 35% thinning original blue overall, strong in the sheltered areas with the balance a blue-gray patina, bright metal on the grip frame. Screws are slightly battered.
