PENNSYLVANIA CHIPPENDALE WALNUT HIGH CHEST OF DRAWERS. Rectangular case with applied molded cornice fitted with three aligned short drawers above two aligned short drawers over four graduated long drawers, all thumb-molded on a molded base raised on bracket feet with scalloped shaped returns. SIZE: 56″ h x case 36-1/2″ w x 39″ w overall x 29-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Overall very nice with good old polished finish. Hardware has been changed three times to the current 20th Century Queen Anne style hardware; Left rear of top at backboard has old insect damage that has been repaired and reglued. Some minor repairs to cornice moldings, left and right side. Right side facing having some piecing. Retains original backboard. Drawers are intact. Base, although appearing totally original, has one side bracket minus the scallop design. 9-91810 (3,000-5,000)
