MARTIALLY MARKED SMITH & WESSON NEW MODEL #3 MARYLAND CONTRACT REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Russian. Nickel finish, 6-1/2” keyhole ribbed bbl, 2-line address, “US” on the butt and “HN” inspector marks on various parts. Fitted with 2-pc smooth walnut grips. 1 of only 280 purchased for the Maryland Militia. SN 7253. CONDITION: Very good, plus. All matching including the grips. Retains 75-80% dull original nickel with the balance a dark patina. Front sight is a replacement. Grips are fine and retain 30-40% original finish. Hammer retains about 90% case colors, trigger guard is mostly a brown patina but may clean better.
