RARE SHIP DECORATED CANVAS MARITIME RUG. Late 19th or early 20th Century. Heavy canvas/sail cloth rug has oil painted scene of three-mast schooner sailing left to right. It is shown in full sail with a brownish hull on blue water. The scene is bordered with a 1-1/2”green edge. These rugs originate from the Canadian Maritimes or Downeast Maine area. Of the few of this type rug that we have handled, this is the finest and most unusual. SIZE: 29-1/2” x 41”. CONDITION: Craquelure in very good condition. 8-87180 (2,000-4,000)
