JOHN STEUART CURRY (American, 1897-1946) “FARM GIRL”. Oil on canvas portrait of a young girl in a blue dress. She holds a bowl in her lap and gazes to the left. She has a red ribbon in her hair. Signed lower left “John Steuart Curry” and dated “1928”. Housed in a fancy gesso decorated gilt replacement frame. Curry is one of America’s great regional artists and was known for his rural landscapes. SIZE: 30” x 20”. CONDITION: The right corner has several pushed in areas with cracks and scuffs. Several small patches to reverse with some inpainting. Otherwise very good. 9-29078 (14000-18000)
