SMITH & WESSON SCHOFIELD 2ND MODEL LARGE FRAME REVOLVER. Cal. 45 Schofield. Nickel finish, 7” keyhole ribbed bbl marked on both side of ejector housing with the usual legends, 2-pc smooth walnut grips. This is 1 of the 649 commercial models produced. SN 8620. CONDITION: Very good. Frame retains 75-80% original nickel with scattered light surface pitting. Bbl retains about 10% nickel, primarily on top of the rib with the balance being a gray metal color with light pitting, heavy at the muzzle. Cylinder retains about 30% with the balance a metal color and light pitting. Grips are extremely fine retaining most of their original varnish and both grips are numbered 2509. Bore is worn and dark with moderate to heavy pitting. Firing pin nose has been repaired. Mechanics are fine, although the cylinder stop does not fully engage. 4-48034 JR124 (Anderson Collection) (2,000-3,500)
