JOHN HULTBERG (American, 1922-) TWO ABSTRACTS. 1) Black and white abstract oil on canvas. Dated on reverse “2 Feb 49” with typed label affixed to back of canvas “Artist: John Hultberg, San Francisco February 2 1949 Bern Porter Collection of Contemporary Art”. Housed in a simple white painted wood frame. Unsigned front. SIZE: 26” x 22”. CONDITION: Craquelure with some minor chips. 2) Framed oil on board abstract in blues, blacks and reds. On back in pen “Painted by John Hultberg”. Also partial script name, probably by artist. Two newspaper articles. One involving an exhibition in 1985 at Barridoff Galleries, Portland, Maine. Housed in a wood and material lined frame. SIZE: 19” x 28”. CONDITION: Vertical crack through right side with two chips on edge. Fair. 9-26108 (300-500)
