SAMUEL R CHAFFEE (American, 1850-) AUTUMN HARVEST. Fine watercolor scene shows a vast field of cultivated hay and pumpkins. The hay is bundled in tall haystacks with pumpkins beside. Sun sets with the last hay being loaded on a large hay wagon. Flocks of birds fly home to roost. Signed lower right “S R Chaffee”. Housed in its original gilt oak frame with gilt matte. SIZE: Sight: 10″ x 21-3/4″. CONDITION: Generally very good with some minor light small foxing spots. 9-92376 (500-1,000)
