OUTSTANDING SHIP PORTRAIT OF THE SHIP CHANDOS ON PORCELAIN PLATTER SIGNED C. McKEEN. Scene shows three mast ship in full sail sailing left to right with other ship in distance. Ship flies flags off stern, borders of gold, blue, and black on a cut corner rectangular ironstone tray. Double legend “Ship Chandos built at Belfast, Maine 1869 Captain Robert T. Emery 1506 tons and signed”. McKeen was a student of Percy Sanborn and one of Belfast finest ship painters. CONDITION: Very good. 9-91789 (2,000-3,000)
