HOOPES FAMILY QUEEN ANNE CARVED WALNUT DRESSING TABLE. Pennsylvania, Circa 1750. Attributed to William Savery. (The dressing table came from the Philadelphia side of the family and always was referred by them as the William Savery dressing table). Rounded front edge molded overhanging top supported by a case having one long drawer over three short drawers. Each drawer having a brass bale handle which are replacements. Nicely outlined carved and shaped skirt. Supported by four nicely shaped and carved cabriole legs ending in carved trifid feet. Pine secondary wood. Old if not original finish having a wonderful patina with some crackle alligatored finish. We have been told by the family that there is a matching dressing table in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. PROVENANCE: Estate of Donelson Hoopes. SIZE: 29-1/2” h x case 32-1/2” x 18-1/4”. Top is 37-1/2” x 19-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-70703 (8,000-12,000)
