HISTORICAL DARK BLUE STAFFORDSHIRE SOUP TUREEN WITH COVER. Mid-19th century. This fine example by I. Hall & Sons, titled “Palace of the King of Delhi”, part of the Oriental Scenery series, rendered in a rich dark blue glaze. The domed lid with floral knopp finial, fitted to the conforming base; scrolling leaftip double loop handles, raised on oval foot, all with intricate floral borders. Maker’s name and title in underglaze blue mark. SIZE: 11″ h. x 13-1/2″ l. x 8″ w. CONDITION: One small flake on base rim, small flakes interior rim of lid, otherwise very good overall. 9-95200 (800-1,200)
