ERNST OSKAR SIMONSON-CASTELLI (German, 1864-1929) A TIME OF PRAYER. Oil on canvas scene shows a cathedral interior with several people praying, a pastor in white robe and an elderly woman with cane walking forward. A large iron gate is on left side, the wall embellished with paintings and sculptures. Signed bottom right “E O Simonson 1890″. Housed in an old but not original copper gilt carved wood frame with white liner. SIZE: 34-3/4″ x 26-1/4”. PROVENANCE: From a Belfast, Maine home. CONDITION: Inpainting on right border, generally good. 9-92952 (800-1,200)
