IMPORTANT PIERCED LAMINATED ROSEWOOD OPEN ARMCHAIR ATTRIBUTED TO JOHN HENRY BELTER NYC. Similar to the “Bird Pattern” but not as complex. Upholstered kidney shaped back has high crest with deep carving of flowers. Sides have intertwined vines. Upholstered armrests and seat. Front carved seat rail supported by French style cabriole legs. Solid back, front legs on caster feet. Reference page 95 the “American Furniture of the 19th Century” 1840-1880 by Richard and Eileen Dubrow. SIZE: 46″h x 25 1/2″w.
