UNSIGNED (American, Mid 19th Century) VIEW OF KINGSTON, NEW YORK. Oil on canvas laid on masonite panoramic view of the Hudson River shoreline city of Kingston. A large town is seen with central steeple and large buildings lining the dock area with a number of three-mast sailing vessels. Also a multiple arch bridge is spanning a large river with a point of land having a tall fort like building with American flag. Mountains are seen in the background. The wide river having several different types of boats. Fine detail rendering of a historic section of the Hudson River. Very much like a Robert Havell composition. Housed in a period gesso decorated gilt frame. SIZE: 12-1/2” x 17”. CONDITION: Inpainted area in sky and other spot inpainting. Generally very good. 9-73556 (5,500-7,500)
