INTERESTING AND RARE ARTICULATED HORSE TRICYCLE. The three-wheel tricycle has two large back wheels fastened to a carriage type buggy. The wheels are fitted to two foot pedals which the child accesses from sitting on an upholstered carriage seat. The front horse figure is articulated past the front legs and attached to a front small wheel. As the front of the horse turns, so does the wheel. The horse is wood and painted black and gold and has a bridle and bit, horse hair tail and mane. The buggy is in original red with black and mustard highlighting. Comes with a black riding crop. A most unusual form. Purchased at a Dick Withington sale in 1992. SIZE: 22” h x approximately 46” l. Horse is 22-1/2” h x 24”. CONDITION: Some wear to paint surface and loss to horses leather ears. Some deterioration to tire tread but generally in good condition. 9-28292 (1000-1500)
