*LOT OF 2 SMITH & WESSON DOUBLE ACTION LARGE FRAME REVOLVERS. 1) *First Model, Cal. 44 Russian, nickel finish, 5” bbl, 2-pc monogrammed hard rubber grips. Left side grip frame stamped with a tiny star signifying factory refinish and the date “6 59”, apparently the date refinished. Shipped 10/26/1912. SN 54192. CONDITION: Very fine, all matching except the grips which are unnumbered. Retains most of the factory re-nickel, sharp grips, strong dark bore with moderate pitting, crisp mechanics. 2) Frontier Model, Cal. 44WCF (44-40), nickel finish, 6” bbl, 2-pc monogrammed hard rubber grips. SN 648. CONDITION: Poor to fair, terrible refinish, no legends remain, cracked frame, pinned ejector, replaced sideplate screw, badly worn grips, poor bore and mechanics. 4-47976, 4-47981 JR132 (Anderson Collection) (500-1,000)
