UNSIGNED (19th Century) PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG WOMAN. Outstanding oil on wood panel three quarter portrait of a young woman with curly brown hair. She stands against a fall landscape background with trees in distant sunset. She looks down and to the left and wears a fancy white dress with ruffled collar and sleeves having light blue bow accent ribbons. Draped around both arms and falling along her dress is a very colorful flower decorated shawl. Possibly a New York or New England portrait by a very accomplished artist. Housed with its original gilt matte and having a replacement gilt molded wood frame. The back panel impressed “Brown 163 Hich holborn”. SIZE: 20-1/2” x 14-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-29781 (400-800)
