H. R. BUTMAN (19th/20th Century) SHIP PORTRAIT OF THE GERTRUDE A. SPENCER. Large oil on canvas marine scene shows a large three-mast clipper ship sailing right to left with a steam sail ship off bow. A large woman figurehead is seen at bow, four men on board. Full sail with American flag on stern. The ships name is on the bow and flies the ship pennant at middle mast. A point of land is seen off stern with two lighthouses and other boats. Signed lower left “H R Butman 1902”. Housed in a fine gesso decorated deep antique frame. SIZE: 24” x 36”.
