PAIR OF PAINTED LEATHER FIRE BUCKETS “D.I.C. HIDDEN 1829”. Green paint with black upper rim and black handles. Mustard writing with name, date and “F. F. S.” (Federal Fire Society). One is marked “No. 1” and the other is “No. 2”. Leather handles and rings are intact. PROVENANCE: Originally found in coastal Maine. SIZE: 11-1/2″ h to top of rim. CONDITION: No. 2 has paint loss (20%), most of writing is intact. No. 1 has minor paint loss with craquelure. 9-27850 (2,000-4,000)
