LOT OF TWO HALF STOCK KENTUCKY RIFLES. (1) Converted from flintlock. Cal. 38. NSN. Early half stock with 39-5/8″ oct bbl, German silver front sight with dbl dovetail base and fixed rear sight. The top flat is marked “S.H. WARD” in large letters and “JAMESTOWN NY” in small letters. It has a front action lock, lightly decorated with matching engraved hammer marked “LEMAN / LANCTR. PA”. It is mounted in a 1-pc maple half stock with tiny cheek piece, brass furniture & dbl set triggers. It has replacement ramrod. Just behind the rear sight it is stamped “VII”. CONDITION: Good. Smooth, dark brown patina overall with light surface rust, heavy pitting around the tumbler. Stock has a crack on the left side panel and another hairline behind the lockplate, otherwise is sound with a dark oil patina on the buttstock, cleaned on the forestock. Mechanics are fine. (2) Unmarked southern style. Cal. 32. NSN. With 40-1/2″ oct bbl, fixed sights, dbl set triggers, walnut half stock with pewter nose cap & brass furniture. CONDITION: Fair. Worn, very dark patina on the iron with heavy pitting around the tumbler and on the lockplate. Stock has cracks & minor loss at the tip and retains most of an old refinish.
