ABBOTT FULLER GRAVES (American 1859-1936) “KENNEBUNKPORT COTTAGE”. Oil on canvas board scene shows an antique white cape home with attached back building having a rock and grass sloped lawn with wild flower rock garden and foundation flower plants. A small spruce tree is at the corner of the house casting a shadow from sunlight coming in from the left side. The multi-paned windows have green shutters and there is a single chimney. The house is flanked by small colorful trees and the painting is signed lower right “Abbott Graves”. The canvas panel has the title on a parcel post label and the board has a climax canvas panel label from Rosenthal of New York. Housed in a fine carved and gilt period frame. A fine example of this artist’s work incorporating flowers and light. SIZE: 16” x 20”. CONDITION: Surface dirt. Very good. 9-74512 FP (25,000-35,000)
