PIETRO GABRINI (Italian, 1856-1926) THE CARD GAME. Oil on canvas scene shows a four-man card game around a wooden table in a tavern cellar. The four characters are a monk, a merchant, a vagabond traveler and a military man. There seems to be some discussion about the play of the cards. A young maiden looks on. Interior of the cellar having various casks and accessories. Signed lower right. Housed in its original molded wood frame. SIZE: 25-1/2″ x 39-1/2″. CONDITION: Some scrapes and small paint chips, generally in good condition. In need of cleaning and minor inpainting. 9-92253 (2,500-4,500)
