ALEX DE ANDREIS (British/Belgian, 19th/20th Century) THE CAVALIER. Oil on canvas portrait of a young Cavalier decked out in fancy red and white trimmed coat. He has a flag with pole resting on his shoulder and wears fur trimmed gloves and holds a silver sword in right hand. He also wears a wide brim black hat. Signed lower right. Housed in a fine deep carved scroll decorated frame. PROVENANCE: The Mayer family of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios. SIZE: 32” x 25-1/2”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-29549 (2,000-4,000)
