LATE 19TH CENTURY ORRERY. This planetarium depicting a portion of our solar system with sun, moon and earth. Shield on the earth globe marked, “TRIPPENSEE PLANETARIUM COMPANY, DETROIT, MICHIGAN”. Also marked, “RAND & McNALLY, COPYRIGHT 1891. The base and sun are brass-colored. When chains are adjusted properly, as the arm turns, the earth and moons revolve appropriately. SIZE: 21″l x 14″h. CONDITION: Chains are all intact; probably needs to be tightened so that things work properly. 9-96951 (375-575)
