IMPORTANT PAIR OF QUEEN ANNE CARVED WALNUT SIDE CHAIRS, UPHOLSTERED IN 18TH CENTURY TAPESTRY FABRIC. Third quarter of the 18th C. Each with rectangular raked back. The drop in seat on molded rails, raised on cabriole legs, carved with a single lappet and ending in pad feet. The needlework upholstery of the backs worked with ribbon tied pendant floral clusters and the seats with figural motifs. One inner rail with paper label inscribed “Chatsworth”. PROVENANCE: Woolworth Collection. SIZE: 40” h x 18” seat h x 21-1/2” across seat rail. CONDITION: Generally very good. Some thread loss to seat upholstery. 9-99959 (4,000-8,000)
