OUTSTANDING TANTALUS. This exceptionally fine Tantalus has four stoppered decanters with a wreath of stylized leaves encircling neck and garland of etched flowers and stems encircling shoulder and included sixteen matching etched liquor glasses. All set within an ornate silver colored frame. Silver frame, decanters and glasses are housed within magnificent black case which is inlaid with brass, copper, M.O.P. and bone or celluloid in an ornate grapevine design with cupids incorporated in design at top of box. Central monogram shield on top has not been engraved. Interior of box is lined with rich, red mahogany. SIZE: 13-1/2″ w x 10-1/2″ d x 11″ t. CONDITION: Glass is all very good to excellent. Box has minor cracking to black enamel and one corner of loose brass inlay. 5-68484 (1,500-2,000)
